The features of seeding and vegetative reproduction of
Hibiscus Syrian (Hibiscus syriacus L.) in the South
regions of Russia are accounted in the article. It is
shown that the not sorted Hibiscuses reproduce better
by seeds. Sowing is made before winter (November).
The young growth appears on April-May of next year.
The seedlings of first-year are wintering badly in the
open soil; therefore, it is better to keep them in the
basements in sand. When one-year seedlings are
planting next spring we receive the standard seedling
in the autumn this year. Planting material of high
quality of Hibiscus Syrian was grown by means of
inoculation and by the grafting method. It is
recommended to execute an inoculation in the first tenday
period of September. It is possible to execute the
reproduction by means of inoculation in case of deficit
of shoots of high quality plants and for the rapid fixing
of sort. It is preferable to reproduce a Hibiscus Syrian
by wood shoots in the frames or by green shoots in the
unheated greenhouses in an autumn-winter period. The
best results in the carried out research were got at
planting shoots for further growth in the containers at
the greenhouses with creating of shadow in a summer
period. The high speed of shoots growth in the
containers of cv. Duc de Brabant, cv. Woodbrige and
cv. Russian Violet varieties are observed. The
vegetative mass of shoots of cv. Speciosus,
cv.Carneus Plenus and cv. Red Heart varieties
increases more slowly. A conclusion follows, that the
studied crop must take the deserving place in the
assortment of decorative bushes of plant nursery farms
The article gives a brief summary on the results of the
introduction of rose varieties of climbing type in the
central sub-zone of the Krasnodar region. Starting
from the year 2000 in our institute a collection of roses
from different garden groups, which includes 164
varieties, has been formed. Presently the rose varieties
with long stems (from 2.5 m or more) are popular
among specialists of landscape industry and floristlovers.
Therefore we carry on introductions and study
rose varieties of the groups of Rambler and LargeFlowered
Climber. Rose varieties with valuable
decorative signs, with enhanceable resistance to cold
and drought-resistingness are selected. The valuable
varieties and sources of the indicated signs are
identified. Varieties of Albertine, American Pillar,
Devichiy grezy are the sources of bright flower color;
Bobbie James, Dorothy Perkins, Duc de Constantine -
sources of long (more than 4 meters) of flexible
shoots Warthburg - the source of early flowering.
Variety New Daun - one of the few varieties of
Rambler, which is characterized by re-bloom
throughout the growing season in the conditions of the
Krasnodar region. The indicative collection of several
rose varieties includes the group of Large-Flowered
Climber. A variety called Adzhimushkay is a source of
large fragrant flowers of bright and early flowering.
For the variety of Crimskiy Motive we noted the
presence of a valuable feature - long flowering during
the dry season (July-August). Flammentanz was
included into the collection as one of the most winter
resistant varieties of large-flowered. Promising
varieties of the series of Super Rambler in the
conditions of Krasnodar in the dry season formed short
shoots, and flowers were not formed. Rose varieties
included into the collection can be considered
indicative of "anchor" genotypes, which are valuable
for involvement into the selection process
An approach to the valuation technique of decorative signs Syrian Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus L.) is suggested. A scale consisting of 15 characters is developed. Each attribute in this scale is evaluated and indexed by the coefficient of the importance of this trait afterwards. General guidance of the evaluation of each decorative feature is given
The article presents brief results of the introduction of
Hibiscus syriacus L. varieties for a signs collection in
the south of Russia. Since 2007, Federal State
Budgetary Scientific Institution North Caucasian
Regional Research Institute of Horticulture and
Viticulture (Krasnodar) has been working on the
introduction and researching of Hibiscus Syriacus
varieties and signs collection is being formed.
Introduced varieties of hibiscus are obtained in zones
with a moderate temperature-humidity regime,
therefore not all are easily adapted in the conditions of
the south of Russia. According to the results of the
research, several varieties of sources of valuable traits
have been identified. Varieties with pure white petals:
Totus Alba, William R. Smith, White Chiffon, White
Pillar. Varieties with bright crimson color petals:
Freedom, Carneus Plenus, Woodbridge, Duc de
Brabant. The Blue Chiffon variety is the source of
bright blue petals, Sanchonyo is a source of bright
purple-crimson petals. Of great value are varieties that
have an unusual combination in the color of petals,
like the varieties Monstrosus and Hamabo. By the
sign: a large flower (d of a flower more than 12 cm),
the collection includes varieties White Chiffon, Chaina
Chiffon, Pink Giant. Variety Dorothi Crane and
hybrids: T-16-11, T-7-11, K-16-12 are identified as
sources of round, wheel-shaped flower. With a double
flower type, the varieties are represented by varieties:
Blue Chiffon, White Chiffon, China Chiffon, Leopoldii,
Speciosus, Lucci, Sanchonyo, Freedom, Carneus
Plenus. Varieties: Woodbrige, Russion Violet, Ledy
Stenly, White Chiffon, China Chiffon, Purple Pillar
are sources of abundant long (more than 3 months)
flowering. With a high degree of self-purification after
flowering, varieties are distinguished: White Chiffon,
Sanchonyo, Purple Pillar, White Pillar, Freedom.
Varieties: China Chiffon, Freedom, Lucii, Leopoldii,
RussionViolet, hybrid forms: T-16-11, T-18-11, T-21-
12 are characterized by increased adaptability to
abiotic factors in south of Russia. Dedicated varieties and forms - sources of valuable economic and
biological characteristics are of interest for involving
in selection and allow to model varieties with given
properties
The analysis of fruit crops saplings production in the Krasnodar region is presented. The problems of the modern fruit crops saplings production in the region are allocated and possible ways of decision these problems are given
