NEW AND PERSPECTIVE SAMPLE OF QUERCUS ROBUR L. FOR GREEN BUILDING AND FORESTATION IN THE ROSTOV REGION

abstract 1061502036 issue 106 pp. 580 – 591 28.02.2015 ru 1009
Green building, forestry, agriculture of the Rostov region is in desperate need of resistant and long-lived samples of deciduous trees of the first grade. The main object of the search of promising forms of deciduous trees were artificial plantations of Quercus robur in the Botanical Garden of SFU. The research identified several of samples of Quercus robur, which are of economic interest. Based on ecological and biological properties and economic qualities, the most promising on was a sample of Quercus robur var. tardiflora, planted in 1888. This sample is less receptive to pests and diseases. It also has a high winter hardiness and drought resistance and significantly superior to similar samples of Quercus robur along longevity and has a high decorative effect. Dedicated sample of Quercus robur var. tardiflora, and his generation from seed is very different from other samples of the population by time of phenological phases. The all main henological phases of this sample occured later by on 10-15 days. The sample belongs to the group of plants of late phenological dates start and end of the growing season. The phenology of dedicated samples contributes to their high steadiness into regional climate. It propagates by sowing freshly harvested seeds. Phenological features of the selected sample might be inherited in the seminal generations

PROSPECTS OF CULTURE SPECIES OF BETULACEAE IN ROSTOV REGION

abstract 1201606033 issue 120 pp. 488 – 503 30.06.2016 ru 420
Were summed up of perennial introductory tests of the representatives of the family Betulaceae S.F. Gray in the Botanical Garden SFedU. The 33 species of this family have been studied for a total. Evaluation of winter hardiness of the family members showed that the absolute resistance to the full range of factors winter have representatives genus Betula, also Alnus incana (L.) Moench and Corylus colurna L. Species of the genus Betula and Corylus may be attributed to the plants having a resistance to drought. The highly drought-resistant species – Carpinus betulus L., C. turczaninowii Hance, Alnus incana (L.) Moench and Ostrya carpinifolia Scop. Less than drought-resistant – Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn. Most of the tested species should be attributed to hemixerophytes. The high degree of defeat by fungal diseases of the species genera Alnus, Betula and Carpinus makes them unsuitable for the regional culture. The causative agent of the disease is a fungus Chondrostereum purpureum (Pers.) Pouzar. Based on the totality ecological and biological properties only species of the genus Corylus remain promising for the culture. For introductory test it is advisable to attract drought-tolerant species of the family Betulaceae such as: Alnus barbata C.A. Mey., A. rubra Bong., A. rugosa (Du Roi) Spreng., Carpinus cordata Blume, C. caucasica Grossh., C. caroliniana Walter, C. orientalis Miller., C. tschonoskii Maxim., Betula insignis Franch., B. lanata (Regel) V.N. REGULARITIES OF THE SEASONAL DEVELOPMENT OF WOODY PLANTS AT INTRODUCTION IN ROSTOV-ON-DON

abstract 0991405017 issue 99 pp. 244 – 255 30.05.2014 ru 1068
The article presents the average and optimal calendar dates of the main phenological phases exotic woody angiosperms in Rostov-on-Don. We assess the level of variability timing of individual phenological phases. The data obtained can be used to diagnose the prospects of exotic woody plants for the regional culture

RESULTS OF INTRODUCTION OF SPECIES OF FAMILY CAPRIFOLIACEAE JUSS. IN SFedU BOTANICAL GARDEN

abstract 1311707053 issue 131 pp. 616 – 631 29.09.2017 ru 360
The results of the introductory test of 22 species of the family Caprifoliaceae from 5 genera are analyzed: Abelia R. Br. (1 species), Diervilla Mill. (1 species), Kolkwitzia Graebn., Lonicera L. (15 species), Symphoricarpos Ducham. (2 species), Weigela Thunb. (2 species) in the Botanical Garden of SFedU. The estimation of ecological-biological properties, of degree of naturalization is given, of phenological development, of age status, of decorative longevity of these species. It has been established that 17 species have high winter hardiness: Kolkwitzia amabilis; Lonicera caprifolium, L. coerulea, L. chrysantha, L. demissa, L. dioica, L. ferdinandii, L. gracilipes, L. × heckrotii, L. japonica, L. morrowii, L. tatarica, L. × tellmanniana, L. trichosantha, Symphoricarpos hesperius and S. occidentalis, Weigela praecox; drought-resistant: Abelia × grandiflora, Kolkwitzia amabilis; Diervilla rivularis, Lonicera acuminata, L. caprifolium, L. confusa, L. chrysantha, L. demissa, L. ferdinandii, L. × heckrotii, L. japonica, L. morrowii, L. tatarica, L. × tellmanniana, L. trichosantha, Symphoricarpos hesperius and S. occidentalis, Weigela floribunda; medium-drought-resistant: Lonicera coerulea, L. dioica, L. gracilipes, Weigela praecox. Period of preservation of decorative qualities in plant ontogeny: Abelia × grandiflora - not less than 10 years; Diervilla rivularis, Lonicera dioica, Weigela praecox - 15-20 years; Lonicera demissa, L. gracilipes, Weigela floribunda - 20-25 years; Lonicera acuminata, L. caprifolium, L. coerulea, L. confuse, L. chrysantha, L. etrusca, L. ferdinandii, L. × heckrotii, L. japonica, L. morrowii, L. tatarica, L. × tellmanniana, species of Symphoricarpos – 25-30 years, Kolkwitzia amabilis – 30–35 years, Lonicera trichosantha 35–40 years
