The article contains the results of the complex analysis of the upwelling at the Western coast of the Middle
Caspian in the summer of 2011, according to the data of observations, obtained with the use of contact and remote methods
The article presents the research results of the Caspian Sea upwelling which is accompanied by the negative temperature anomaly in the summer period.
The historical review of the upwelling research was made. The upwelling at the western coast of the Mid-dle Caspian was classified by duration, intensity and scale. The comparative analysis results of the upwel-ling cases are presented according to the coastal hydrological observations in 1999-2008.
