The article considers turban cucumber forms, we have also described the origin of this characteristic, briefly overviewed turban forms in species of the family of Cucurbitaceae. We have given the agro-botanical iconography of this trait in pumpkin cultures for cucumis. In Europe, China and America turbanoformis cucumber forms are used as a vegetable, there are some varieties. It is shown that turbanoformis forms are found in the fruit of the cucumber with hermaphrodite flower, polunina ovaries, short or shareplace the melon, and also in forms with the ongoing evolutionary process
The issues of international spread of fruits of long gourd lagenaria and the introduction of it in culture are considered in the article. We have shown how to use it as a vegetable crop and considered varietal diversity of this species. The biological characteristics of lagenaria cultivation as vegetable plants, including peculiarities of the reproductive system have been marked. We have also considered the issues of cultivation and
distribution of long gourd lagenaria (zycca) for food
The article discusses issues related to humorous, ironic, satirical figure, which is one of the kinds of fine art. Forms, styles and genres graphs of this type were reviewed. The classical method of analysis has been used in the article, only the subject of the analysis was images of various phenomena in agronomic practice. Basic definitions of humorous illustration, showing the history of its creation are presented. In the example of drawn short stories by Dutch artist Herluf Bidstrup we show possibilities of using a humorous picture as a good example of observation of the development of plants. We have marked characteristic features of modern cartoons - the ability to largely reflect the concerns associated with the development and application of new technologies in the agricultural sector and economy. Towards a new form of comic drawing we can consider a meme as a unit of cultural information. The caricature is as follows-known work is presented in an entirely different semantic perspective, it is like tracing paper for lighting any problems. The emphasis is on the possibility of using intelligent and ironic drawings in the teaching discipline of "History and methodology of scientific agriculture" for better learning, remembering and propaganda agronomic knowledge
Works of painters of past is the source of information of crop domestication, use in horticultural, species diversity. Lagenaria crop images in painting can also be a resource for determining the morphological changes of the crop in evolution
The article presents the results of study of the reproductive capacity of landrace varieties of winter wheat on the example of the chief of the ear. Analysis of sales productivity was conducted by the method of F. M. Kuperman. We have also considered the relation of actual productivity number formed flowers on the 6th stage of ontogenesis
The article discusses agro-botanical illustration of hand fans painting as an independent resource of visual information on the history of culture of introduction, distribution, species diversity and plant breeding. We have reviewed the history of the fan and the causes of widespread of fans and the respective painting plants. The article shows the different trends in the filing of a visual image in the fan art: from accurate, detailed drawing of the image, until smooth, blurred contours, made in the "boneless" or "acyclic" technique. On the example of pumpkins, lagenaria, soybeans, corn, flowers, namely asters and peonies we have shown various aspects of breeding and agronomic work for several centuries. The article uses the method of visual analysis as a tool for collection and analysis of data on breeding and introduction of a number of crops on the example of specific crops, particularly soybeans. The analysis includes a description of morphotypes, area of origin, distribution, physiology, individual characteristics, and insects found in the ecological niche. It is noted that visual analysis can be successfully applied in the study of varietal diversity of a number of flower crops: asters, peonies, chrysanthemums, and some fruits and vegetables
Illustration is an important part of scientific work and educational process. They help us understand studying material and see the different connection among things. The different types of illustration were analyzed and we also demonstrated illustrations in scientific world, education materials and the role of abstraction in scientific illustration
In the article, with a descriptive method and a method of analysis and synthesis, we have conducted a study of species diversity of Lagenaria on the basis of a miniature sculpture of netsuke. In Japan and China, in the period from the 17th to the 20th century, the most common was 9 species. The biological peculiarities of
some rare species of lagenaria has been described
The article considers issues related to the history of the
popularization of agricultural knowledge by agitation
lacquer miniatures. The agitation lacquer miniature in
its content and meaning has similarities with such
kinds of art as agitation posters, agitation porcelain and
agitation textiles. We have discussed issues the
emergence of this kind of art. The agitation lacquer
miniature or agitlak appeared in Soviet Russia in the
1920s. In the work, we have attempted to analyze one
of the most interesting directions of art - propaganda or
lacquer miniature agitlak and its role in promoting
agricultural knowledge. Agitlak - a term invented by
the collector Alexander Andreyevich Dobrovskij, by
association with the established terms such as agitporcelain
and agit-textile. To achieve this goal the
database was created visual images of agitation lacquer
miniatures taken from exhibition catalogs, brochures
and books. As a tool of the analysis method we have
used sketches or visual notes. To use lacquer
miniatures as resource information for popularization
agricultural knowledge in Russia in the period from
1920 to 1970 there are several topics: change of
manual labor by mechanized, types of agricultural
works, harvesting, growing of different cultures,
experience exchange, attracting the pioneers in the
agricultural sector - opytnichestvo. In the work we
have shown the history of the development of agitation
lacquer miniature, goals and objectives, an illustrative
number of samples as well as analyzed lacquer
miniatures with scenes of agricultural production
In our study we attempt to analyze a new form of
illustration − the meme that is widely used in science
and educational process. To achieve this goal we had
to assemble a collection of images to catalog and
description in order to understand the new role of the
illustrative image. Meme is defined as a unit of
cultural information. According to the definition of
Wikipedia, a meme can consider any idea, character,
manner or way of doing things, consciously or
unconsciously transmitted from person to person
through speech, video, writing, rituals, drawings,
gestures, etc. The term meme and the concept of the
meme was proposed by evolutionary biologist Richard
Dawkins in 1976 in his book "the Selfish gene". The
article shows illustrative examples of memes based on
the artwork and paintings of the great masters of
painting, considered the use of created images. It
shows the history of illustrative memes and
transformation of images in the modern world of
science and education. Using memes in scientific
work, as a form of illustration, it can be noted that
visualization of the object of research allows you to
develop visual thinking, which has identified a number
of functions: cognitive, communicative,
methodological. Cognitive function is manifested in
the ability to cognize an object through an image,
communicative – explain the problem or task through
the image; methodological – to build research with
consideration of the peculiarities of the structure and
morphology of the object
