In this article, we consider images of corn plant on the
example of painting, ceramics, postcards, Soviet
propaganda poster, porcelain and post stamps.
We have shown the technology of education process.
The first is the creation of the of illustration images,
the second are the analysis, comparison, interpretation
and searching for new information. The method of
sketches as the basis of education technology is used in
this article. The analysis of corn plants depiction
collected in the library of images, i.e. iconography,
was provided to send the information about the history
and speed of spread of corn plant in Europe and to
select the species peculiarities, the cultivation
technology and using in Russia. In addition, the
anomalies of corn plant, development of their
reflection in painting are noted. The history of genetic
researches of this plant is demonstrated in this work.
On the examples of great artists’ works, we have
reflected species varieties of corn plant, as well as the
phenomenon of xenia; we have also touched the
questions of mobile genetic elements. In this works,
we have pointed the features of cultivation of corn in
Russia, demonstrated the popularization of this cereal.
The main idea of the base images is receiving new
knowledge about an object by means of collecting
images, visual analysis, search for information and
study material. The new approach is obtaining new
knowledge, which is a motivated and fascinating
method of gathering new scientific information
The phenomenon of fasciation on the example of higher
plants was considered. The effect of fasciation on the
various particularities of plants has been shown. The
numerous examples of the different groups of plants with
fasciation bodies are given. We have demonstrated that
the phenomenon of fasciation is more common for
cultivated plants than for wild. In most cases, fasciation
is considered as an exceptional phenomenon. A number
of authors have distinguished fasciation to inheritable
and non-inheritable. The first is caused by internal
reasons. The second is the influence of external factors
such as insect damage, injury, weather conditions. The
number of regularities was installed: reproductive bodies
of plants fasciationing more often; thermophilic forms
are more likely to be fasciation. The images of different
cultures with fasciation parts are given. We discuss using
the introduction of the term ”connаtions” as
morphological abnormalities. Fasciation can be
considered as a marker trait for the cause of this
phenomenon with violation of ecological situation. The
plants with morphosis, including fasciation of the certain
parts of bodies, can act as indicators of environmental
pollution. The study of the phenomenon of fasciation in
higher plants can be regarded as a method of breeding for
large fruit size. From one side, to establish the adaptation
abilities of newly created genotypes. Thus, the
phenomenon of fasciation has affected many areas of
science. On the other side, it is proof of the violations
caused by environmental factors. On the other hand, it is
hereditary reasons, and can also serve as a model for
studying morphogenesis
The article considers illustrative images of plants on the postage stamps as a resource of information of agronomy history. We have shown the technology of education process. The first is the creation of the images base; the second are analysis, comparison, interpretation and search of new information. The method of sketches as the basis of the iconography of plants images was presented in this work. Analysis of the images allowed identifying several thematic blocks. Agriculture, growing in the country, the history of the plants spread, the technology of processing, product export and promotion of agronomic knowledge through agricultural exhibitions. Object of the analysis is a postage stamp. Stamps reflect the whole life of people, their history and modernity, environment, agriculture, science, culture and art. A stamp is a kind of "business card", it is a witness of the era. The main idea of the base images is receiving new knowledge about an object by collecting images, visual analysis, searching for information and studying material; in fact, it is a new approach to obtaining new knowledge, motivated and exciting approach to receive scientific information. Created database of images on the history of agronomy on the basis of stamps allows to use them actively in the learning process, and may be used as the individual topics for researches
The educational technology on the basis of the
representation of artistic images has been discussed in
the article. Fragments of the literature works may serve
as an illustration to the formed students' perceptions of
the phenomenon, are used as a research problem in the
study of the course "History of agronomy." Excerpts
from literary works of writers from different periods
form the basis of artistic images of crops. The tasks
with the description of certain plants taken from the
literary work have been developed in the course
"History of scientific agronomy" on the topic of the
history of plants introduction into agricultural
production. The examples of plants: nettles, clover,
tobacco, wheat, and the future of the plant of the future
were given in the paper. The following topics such as
the history of the introduction of agricultural plants,
the use of technology, technology of cultivation, the
story spread have been considered in the paper. Due to
the representation of works of literary art as an
educational technology for course «The history of
agronomy» in this area, main elements are: perception,
reaction, learning, organization and the formation of
values and orientation systems practice. Using the
works of art allows us to develop the following
functions of the educational process: developmental
(facilitates search and analysis feature passages
describing the history of the plants), motivational
(encourages conduct an active search), teaches the
basics of popularizing scientific agronomy through
artistic expression, teaching observation, developing a
productive search and cognitive activity of students
In the article we consider illustrative images of rare
pumpkin cultures presented in stamps of different
countries. In this work, we analyze stamps which
represent rare pumpkin cultures. Stamps are reflection
of the economy; they portray agriculture and elements
of technology of agricultural production.
Cucurbitaceae family includes a large number of
species that are very different from each other in the
form of fruits, in purpose, in origin. The objective of
our study was to conduct a visual analysis of rare
pumpkin crops, which are used in the world; to reflect
the research progress on the introduction and the
achievement of breeding work. The article provides an
analysis of several cultures: momordika (Momordica
charantia L.), Kiva (Kiwano), horned melon, cucumber
Antilles, (Cucumis metuliferus L.); Akantositsios
Naudin (Acanthosicyos naudinianus L.); momordica
balsamina (Momordica Balsamina L.); koktsiniya
(Coccinia sessifolia L.); luffa cylindrical (Luffa
cylindrica L.); Lagenaria (Lagenaria siceraria
(Molina) Standl.); cucumber snake (Trichosanthes
anguina L.); antilles cucumber, anguria (Cucumis
anguria L.); african cucumber (Cucumis africanus
Lindl); wax gourd (Benincasa hispida (Thunb)
Cogn..); chayota or mexican cucumber (Sechium edule
Swartz). The analysis of the iconography of images of
rare pumpkin crops in stamps of different countries
allowed us to see the history of culture introduction of
wild pumpkin from the local and foreign flora
The article is devoted to visual analysis and its application in the selection process. New possibilities of application of visual display of information in the research process are considered. We have presented the examples of the use of visual phenotyping in breeding, evaluated the advantages and disadvantages in this area. In particular, the algorithm of the program of LHDetect for estimating leaf pubescence of wheat wafers is described, based on the analysis of digital images of the sheet bend. We have also considered Phenotiki platform that uses digital images of the profile of plants for visual phenotyping to assess plant growth. Based on the analysis of various studies it was noted that the application of visual analysis for some purposes is very effective, but for others, on the contrary, not effective. We highlight the actual problems of proper representation and converting information. The article shows the various causes of loss and distortion of data, as well as possible solutions to these problems. The work describes the application of ASK-analysis in the selection process. As an example, it describes the evaluation of the polymorphism of variety groups of grapes. We have presented interesting solutions and ways to minimize distortion and loss of information in the process of its transformation found by the authors of these works. The article reveals the concept of "computational biology" and describes fundamental differences from other areas as well as tasks, problems, possible research areas and promising directions of development of computer biology
In the article, the methods of representation, popularization and propagation of scientific achievements of agronomy in the Soviet period are considered. This topic may be interesting not only as an example of methods for educating young people about the current achievements of agriculture, but also serves as a valuable source of knowledge on the history of agronomy. This article considers the use of such of conveying information as a cartoon. Along with such forms of fine arts as: a poster, textiles, postage stamps and lacquer miniature, a cartoon is an example of data visualization. Having a background of an easy and sometimes jocular narrative, the necessary information is delivered to the viewer. After watching the cartoon, a person who is not previously acquainted with this issue will already have a general idea about it. A specialist, paying attention to details, is able to see and highlight the information necessary for himself, such as history and peculiarities of cultivation of the culture. In this article, as an example, we have considered the Soviet cartoon "Chudesnitsa." It tells about the appearance of corn in our country and the reasons for its sharply increased popularity. The article lists scenes of the cartoon that carry information directly on the history and technologies of agriculture, as well as on the accompanying industry. The effectiveness of this method of information transmission to people of all ages and professions is noted, as well as multitasking of its use in the educational program of specialists
The article is devoted to the methods of popularization of knowledge on scientific agronomy that was used in the Soviet period. Methods of visual transmission of information such as postcard, badge, matchbox label, agitation poster, textiles and porcelain, as well as an animated film have been considered. The influence of these methods on the development of agriculture is shown. At the same time, the reverse process is also the effect of the progress and achievements of agriculture on the art of that time. Each method is unique and the article describes the scope and influence of each of them on the society of that time. An extensive database has been collected for each examined method and images analyzed in terms of the history of agronomy and technologies used in agriculture, as well as their use in the popularization of this sector. The use of such methods of information transfer in the present time is noted, both for solving such an urgent problem - increasing the prestige of agriculture, and in the educational process of specialists of this industry. The materials described in the article are recommended for introduction to the course "History and methodology of scientific agronomy". It is shown that the given resources could contain a large number of useful and even unique information, which makes them an object for collection, detailed study and structuring in databases
The phenomenon of fasciation on the example of a higher plant called “Taraxacum officinale Wigg” has been considered. The effect of fasciation on the various particularities of plants has been shown. There are numerous examples of the different fasciation types of present plant’s type which are growing in different ecological areas. We have demonstrated that the phenomenon of fasciation exists in natural populations and in areas with development pressures, and it may occur after mechanical damage to plants of Taraxacum officinale. In most cases, fasciation is regarded as an exceptional phenomenon. A number of authors have distinguished fasciation to non-inheritable and inheritable. The first is the influence of external factors such as insect damage, injury, weather conditions. The second is caused by internal reasons. The number of regularities was installed that the reproductive bodies of plants are more often fascinated, and thermophilic forms are more likely to have fasciation. Photographic images of various types of fasciation, patterns and diagrams are given. Fasciation can be considered as a marker because of the connection of this phenomenon with the violation of the ecological situation. Plants with morphoses including ones with fasciation of individual organs, can act as indicators of pollution of the natural environment. Thus, the phenomenon of fasciation affects many areas of science, such as ecology, morphogenesis, genetic monitoring. The possibility of studying the phenomenon of fasciation on a model object of dandelion is shown. As a methodical approach to the study of this phenomenon, it is proposed to create a database of images, in this way it would be cataloging the image
In the article on the example of painterly works of the
artist I.I. Mashkov there have been represented the
analysis of the plants’ history. The emphasis on the
image as the object of study, in the modern world has
become popular for several reasons. On the one hand,
it is a documentary confirmation of events, the state of
the object, and sometimes the only proof of a bygone
era. On the other hand, the works of art are
multifaceted information about the study area,
recorded by the artist with a thorough drawing of
details, environment, transfer of colors, shapes. The
experience of creating electronic databases as a library
of electronic resources is considered. The analysis of I.
I. Mashkov's art paintings made it possible to identify
several semantic blocks such as the species and genetic
diversity of vegetable crops; spread of cultures, i.e.
introduction on the example of pumpkins, tobacco and
sunflower; pottery culture (indoor flowers, species and
genetic diversity of camellia, begonias), local
strawberry varieties with the phenomenon of fascia,
and the production of bread with variety and
characteristic forms. Through the analysis of still-life
paintings and part of the portraits, in the artist's desire
to "express time," a peculiar "species record" of agrocultures
and agro-production was created in the period
from 1910 to 1940 years
