Every year on the seas, on average, up to 100 accidents
occur involving the loss of ships and men. A high proportion
of accidents exist for the ships of the Russian
Federation. Thus, in 2015, there were 72 emergency
cases and 86 sailors died. The reasons for the absolute
majority of emergency incidents with ships are unsatisfactory
technical condition of the ship; the errors and
omissions in the course of organizational and technological
activities related to the shipping industry; adverse
meteorological situation in the navigation area
and its negative impact on the ship; the negative effect
of the "human factor". The entry into force of a number
of international conventions, codes and resolutions of
the International Maritime organization (IMO) and
national legislative acts and normative documents related
to the safe operation of ships and prevention of
pollution of the aquatic environment certainly contributes
to the resolution of these problems. However, the
widespread reduction in the size of crews increased the
load on the navigation composition, and this circumstance
sometimes becomes fatal to ship and crew. In
case of death of the ship, the sailors can escape with the
help of individual and collective rescue means. For this
purpose, in accordance with the IMO requirements and
curricula, the future command structure of the transport
vessels undergoing special training in the Maritime
training institutes with the Coastal training centers
(BUTTS), and receive appropriate certificates confirming
their theoretical and practical training. The article
analyzes the conventional process of preparation of the
students to act in emergency situations, the ability to
apply individual and collective rescue means to manage
the duty and lifeboat and life raft, to organize the survival
of the people on the rescue means at sea
The development of the political, the military and the economic power of the Russian Federation is impossible without development of patriotism and without stirring up the most important part of military-patriotic education of youth, including, of course, cadets of maritime colleges. Nowadays, the patriotism is demanded by society as a state ideology, as a most important condition and the way of spiritual and economic revival of Russia; it’s demanded as a way to unite and consolidate the entire population of Russia and as the answer to provocation from western countries seeking to weakening of Russia and finally to the collapse of the Russian world. Patriotism can be understood as a moral-political principle, social feeling, that consist of love and devotion to Fatherland, pride for it’s past and present, tendency to protect the interests of Homeland. Patriotism is expressed in love and devotion to its own Homeland, native land and its own nation, its history and culture. In present conditions, the most important direction and formation of patriotic qualities among maritime cadets can and is to be military-patriotic education, carried out on a base of regulatory documents, heroic history or Fatherland, military traditions of army and navy. Loyalty to the Fatherland, sincere love to the own country, moral-psychological and military-professional alacrity to armed protection of the Fatherland in the armed forces of the Russian Federation- it is quintessence of military – patriotic education and so it differs from patriotic education of Russian citizens. In the article it is considered the core of the military-patriotical education, based on analysis of local scientists’ views; we have formulated the goal, the tasks and the pedagogic conditions of military-patriotic education of maritime cadets; we have made an attempt to give author’s definition the term of “maritime college military-patriotic education of cadets”
One of major problems of our society at the modern
stage of development of Russia is patriotic education
of all population. Our state, our authorities began to
pay special attention to this problem during last years.
The adoption of a series of important laws and other
legal acts related to Patriotic activities is a clear
confirmation. In this regard, we can observe an
intensification of the scientific community, making
their worthy contribution to the study of the problem
of patriotism, searching the new ways of effective
organization of educational work with citizens of
Russia. According to the authors, one of the most
modern and efficient ways of effective educational
impact on the youth can be software support of the
process of Patriotic education. Nowadays, this
direction in the pedagogical science is given great
attention. Most researchers consider software
maintenance as a pedagogical method, which provides
creation of favorable conditions under which the
subject development will be able to make the best
decision in different situations of life choices.
Focusing on the views of Russian scientists who
develop the basics of pedagogical support and software
support, the authors share the opinion that software
maintenance is a new pedagogical method that
promotes active involvement of students in the process
of obtaining the necessary knowledge, their
assimilation and reinterpretation, and, on this basis, the
formation of Patriotic worldview itself, their beliefs,
Patriotic, Patriotic position, high Patriotic qualities
