The article contains generalized information on the
activities of peasant farms in cultivation of turkey for
meat using outdoor technologies. The production is
cost-effective, although the rates of live weight gain
and the cost of feeding do not reach the requirements
for the cross. There are some reserves to improve the
profitability (introduction of floor cell technology,
optimization of feeding and participation in
government support programs)
The article contains a synthesis of modern views on
the problem of ketosis and related metabolic
disorders. We have given evidences of the
exceptional role of hypoglycemia in the development
of progressive metabolic diseases of cows during the
transition period. The necessity of implementing a
program for critical period with mandatory control
of glycemia was substantiated
The article contains complex research results dedicated
of reproduction the cattle of the animal breeding
industry in the agricultural holding called “Kuban”.
Key indicators characterizing reproductive function at
cows were set; they were estimated in terms of the
plans of the economy in the milk cattle breeding
industry. The reduced values of the birth-rate of calves
were revealed on 100 cows and in the term of the
production use of cows, their main reasons were set.
The performed calculations prove the possibility of
increasing the profitability of milk production
The article contains research results on the influence
of duration of the first lactation period of sows on
reproductive qualities. The authors have detected
basic problems which reduce indices reproduction of
purebred pigs of the breed of Yorkshire and hybrids
of F1 (Yorkshire x Landras) under conditions of a
new complex. It was found that because of the
increase in duration of lactation period of the sows it
is impossible to increase the safety of the piglets
with a reduced live mass (from big nests and slow in
growth) and improve the reproductive quality of
sows. This method has been used in the economy
what led to a notable improvement in the indices of
pig breeding
The fattening of Holstein cattle for more than 90 % provides the beef cattle division of the firm «Agrocomplex» based in the village of Vyselki, the Krasnodar region. The share of the Aberdeen Angus breed is 6.3 % and Charolais at 0.6 %. The reason for insufficient supply with fattening complex of Charolais cattle is a high indicator of severe parturition, postpartum complications, and reduced productive longevity of cows of breeding herds of these breeds. In a "Livestock complex" bulls of breeds of Holstein, Charolais and Aberdeen Angus reach the required values of live weight for the established standards of the breeding time. Charolais have the best indicators of absolute and relative weight gain and the shortest feeding season. The profitability of cattle fattening in CJSC company "Agrocomplex" is low, but the efficiency of the industry is ensured by the presence of its own processing plants. To improve the profitability of beef production it is required to increase the proportion of specialized breeds for meat productivity; to generate the most uniform by age and live weight of the group; identify the cause of the high rate of culling of Charolais cows for postpartum complications and take action to address them
The article contains data on results of calving and blood tests of heifers moved from the Astrakhan region in the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar region in the condition of early pregnancy. According to the accompanying documents, cell blood count, hemoglobin and biochemical parameters were consistent with species and age normal. Calving took place without complications and did not require delivery; received 36 of 36 calves from cows. The quality of the calves found to be satisfactory. On the 45th day of service period, clinical signs of impaired health status were present in 2 animals, however biochemical markers of liver disease, inflammation, and anemia was identified in 7 heifers. In the context of work on creation of livestock combined milk and meat productivity of inseminated heifers and heifers of the Simmental breed the Simmental semen (25 cows) and Aberdeen Angus (34 cows) breeds. Fruitfully inseminated 55 out of 60 animals; indicator of severity of calving was 8 % for Simmental cows. Calves of Simmental breed and Simmental-Aberdeen Angus cross-breeds meet the requirements for live weight at birth and the exterior. Farming on the formation of herds of milk and meat direction of productivity are found to be effective
