The article suggests science-based and experimentally tested method of chain transmission quality control. This method enables to estimate the losses due to friction in the transmission chain that directly affect the efficiency of the chain drive. The method can be used both in the chain production stage, as well as in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a chain drive
