This article is dedicated to solving the problem of
language and culture relationship in the modern
society. Concept “love” is the main subject of the
article; the author shows its examples in popular
stage songs. There are five variations of love from
the psychological and sociological point of view in
the article. The author depicts how they are used in
the song discourse. According to the research data
the author consider that all variations of love in the
lyrical song genre are not equally frequent. So while
erotic love is almost everywhere, selfish love isn’t so
popular. Moreover, the author concludes the cultural
level of the whole nation can be defined with its
creative arts. Furthermore, nowadays there is clear
decadence of culture in English-speaking countries

The analysis of the motive structure’s features in the play “August: Osage County” by a modern American writer Tr. Letts has been reviewed in this article. His drama is based on a compound of mass and elite, a playing and a moral. It allows to avoid the text’s tendentiousness and to keep the content. In the play “August: Osage County” Tr. Letts examines the family theme, which is very important for the American culture. The author reviews the destruction of family relationships as a sign of the society’s moral crisis. The main topic has been realized via motives (escapism, freedom, death, and incest), they create the semantic frame of the play and unite separate episodes of the plot’s development. The motives become special tools of the characters’ psychological analysis and are an explanation of the feelings’ contradictory. The image of the house has a special meaning. It’s the symbol of the human disunity and a destruction of the family relations. As a result the synthesis of the motives, symbolism, intertextuality, multilayer has been viewed as a particular tool of the author’s opinion realization and the philosophical implication’s creation
The article analyzes the novel «Pasternak» by Mikhail
Elizarov and Alexander Prokhanov’s «Ship «Joseph
Brodsky»» in the view of distinctive «signs» of
Russian culture functioning in them. Therefore, the
work of the writers - Nobel Prize winners is a kind of
prism for modern prose writers through which the
major questions for Russian history are considered: the
people and the intellectuals, social justice, national
idea, religion and statehood. The main topics are
implemented through the number of reasons, the main
of which are the motives of the blood and salvation
(the Savior on Spilled Blood), controversially allowing
philosophical problem of redemption of the depravity
of existence. Social issues are stated through allusion
layer: references to Dostoevsky's novels, Radishchev’s
«Journey from Petersburg to Moscow», Nekrasov's
poem «Who lives Happy in Russia». With the theme
of redemption organically linked theme of man's
salvation, which Prokhanov and Elizarov’s characters
decide on their own. So different view of the world
and creative aspirations of the authors are unified by
their desire to capture their era, its reversal of fortune
and historical faults in which the Great Russian
literature has always played a significant role
The article presents the results of a complex structural-semantic analysis of colloquial verbal units with the auf-component including semantic classification of the derivational stems, the description of semantics of a verbal component as a part of colloquial verbal units, consideration of the features of word-formation motivation of the analyzed verbal units, and also the classification of the considered verbal units based on semantic of word-formation models
The peculiarities of representation of the concept
“Muslim World” in modern English discourse are
regarded in this article. Based on the achievements of
cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics, it is
possible to research the concept of “Muslim World” as
a phenomenon of the English linguistic culture.
Different approaches to the definition of the term
“concept” are studied. The article describes
definitional analysis of lexical items “Muslim” and
“World” in modern English dictionaries. Based on
these results, it is concluded dictionaries present the
term “Muslim”, first of all, as a human - a follower of
a particular religion. We can say the concept “Muslim
world” is presented in the social and conceptual
knowledge as one of the manifestations of the human
world and is used in relation to the reality of cultural
and historical unity of the Islamic nation. This concept
serves as an image of reality in the system theory of
knowledge. The further studying of the Islamic world,
as definition is possible to make with the mutual
enrichment of the social reality of other peoples.

to establish relationship between people, nature and
society, as well as their mutual influence on each other
This article considers the knowledge of the truth in the
novel of the American classic of the XX century
Thornton Wilder. From our point of view, one of the
ways of an implementation is the existential form of a
rhetorical question. They were asked by all characters of
the novel and for some of these questions the archetype
of the searcher which was formed in the Medieval
legends is guessed. Findings of this article offer to put
the question about the nature of the genre of Th.
Wilder’s novels in a new way
The article studies words and set expressions of children's
speech appearance of which are directly linked
to the dissemination of movies in the late 1980s in the
Soviet Union. These words and set expressions are
analyzed on the basis of the material collected by the
author for «The Dictionary of Soviet Childhood» being
prepared for printing. As a result of exposure to foreign
video products, some new expressions and words
entered children's speech and have become an important
part of the linguistic landscape of the Soviet
childhood. Many of them have been stored in conversations
so far: invective vocabulary, translation loanwords,
barbarisms, exotic vocabulary, proper names.
Many words have developed new meanings and become
part of new Russian lexical sets. These neologisms
in vocabulary are reflected in children's folklore;
some of them have become part of the literary language
and have been fixed in modern dictionaries of
the Russian language. Many of them are still used in
Russian informal speech. The author gives examples
of the use of these lexical units in fiction and publicist
texts paying attention to their semantic, phonetic,
spelling and grammatical features
The article describes the characteristic features of
British political discourse, its historical development
and the formation and characteristics of the British
sense of humor. We noted that political humor reflects
the mood and attitude of trends in politics. Political
discourse has been viewed as socially-oriented
communication, which is in the nature of persuasive
and compelling communication, dominated by the
imperative type of speech, which, in turn, creates
preconditions for the implementation of the comic. We
have defined defamatory, socially critical, and
harmonizing functions. Special attention is paid to the
role of the addressee, as the factor, which determines
the political communication's aim. We have observed
that British politicians use humor carefully so as not to
provoke their opponents and dissenters in mocking
their use of humor or turning their statements against
themselves. The article contains the analysis of
illustrative material consisting of quotations of the
British political and public figures. English humor can
be studied from the point of view of transformational
grammar, in which case the jokes are divided into
prosaic and poetic ones. Prosaic jokes are based on
social and cultural situations, human interactions.
Poetical jokes are based on grammatical forms and
their irregular usage
The article is devoted to the analysis of law definitions and its influence on law discourse-text universe. Linguistics can interfere into jurisprudence by introduction of mini-dictionary into the text of the law. Law is a mixture of legal norms and regulations plus philological pearl – thesaurus. It is not only reasonable but necessary to adopt definition to the body of law, because the meaning of the term can vary depending on goals and aims of the law. The legislation of the Krasnodar territory is analyzed in the article in the philological aspect. The choice of examined laws is proved not only because of the agrarian component of the region but also because of the presence of powerful base of tourist-recreational services. In the article there is regional evidential material. The exact actual laws are depicted, philological assessment of their language and legislative importance is given, it is mentioned that conceptual instrument is present in main normative acts. The problem of methodological basis is actualized. In the research the contrastive analysis of similar laws of the Krasnodar territory, Great Britain and southern states of the USA in discourse-text universe is conducted. The conclusions can determine the processes of language interference in today’s changeable picture of the world
